Filling up the pond shelf
Returned again to the pond at Fromebridge with Stroud Valleys Project to continue planting vegetation on the under water shelf. Ruth wasn’t there today, but Pete led the work party instead.
We’ve spent the last few weeks methodically going around the pond edge to extract plants excavated from the canal and replant them.
We’re now on the final stretch and by next week should have completed the first pass around both ponds.
The levels were very low today, which meant we could reach the island in the middle to plant there.

In the evening, we had another session of Dursley Green Drinks. We weren’t able to gather at the usual venue of Kingshill House, so we quickly made a plan B and went to the Oak over the road. Jo and I will have to do some more follow up to secure the venue for next month.
A smaller crowd today, but a lot of good chat about riverfly, libraries and community provision of services.
